Changing the video

After looking at the start of our video we decided that we needed to change the character at the start of the video to a girl rather than a boy as it didn’t seem to make sense, this means that we have to go back and re film at the woods to ensure that the lyrics go along with the narrative of the video. The lyrics of Dear Boy describe a story about a girl chasing a boy who she used to be in relationship with and can no longer have, so having a female as the one who is thinking about the past makes much more sense and will give a better visual representation of the story.

The start of the video

The start of the music video has now been filmed at the woods located in Maghull. The picture bellow shows both members of the group at the woods before we started filming. The shots we filmed were long cuts of the male character walking through the woods in memory of the past when he was in a relationship with the female mentioned in the song. When the music builds up later on in the song the music video we show the times that the couple had together and will go along with the lyrics. For example the destruction aint a crime lyrics will be represented a visual representation to go along with the song.

Reflective post

This week we decided to add a new location to the list of locations that we had already previously decided on, the new location that we plan on using in our video is jubilee woods in Maghull. We have already decided that we will be using the woods located in Formby also, however these will be for different purposes. We have decided that the start of the music video we be filmed using the woods at Maghull rather than the other planned woods as the music at the start of our video is rather slow paced, so we think it would be a good idea to use the narrow paths that are available to go with the slow music at the start and use less cuts. Then later on in the video we will swap to more fast paced shots with much more frames and cuts. We plan on filming the start of the video near the end of the month.

Planned Establishing Shots

In our group the first section of the music video that we plan to film will be located in Formby, here we intend to use the different scenery that is located around Formby such as the different environments. For example we plan to use establishing shots at locations around Formby such as the beach and the woods. The beach and the woods in Formby are ideal locations as they give us opportunity for a wide range of scenes.

Website (First draft)

This is the first draft of the website that we are going to create, we have researched other DJ websites to ensure that when we create our website it will be as realistic and professional as possible. In the future the background of the website will be a picture of our artist. On our website we will have a biography of the artist to ensure the website is as close to a normal website as possible, having a back story for our artists ensures he is as realistic as possible. Another page that we will be having on our website in the future will be a news page to keep fans up to date on all recent information such as concerts and future tours. On the website we will also integrate social media aspects into the website as this is what we have noticed within the research.

First Location scouting

Bellow is a first list of possible locations that we may use for our music video and what time we may consider going:

• Formby Beach: We will use a few different locations at the beach during our video and one of them will be on the sand dunes in a location similar to this. During our video we will be using the beach during the day and in the night so the times we are at the beach will vary, we will be going in the morning to make as much use of the day as we can and then possibly back at night.

• Formby woods: One of the most important locations in or video will be Formby woods, we will be in these woods for the party part of our music video and will be just outside of the woods for the part of our music video were the girl in the video is remembering the old times. During this part we will be using the same location just outside of the woods in the night and the day so we would be there early in the morning and late and night.

• Bold Street: For the second part of our music video we may be using bold street to continue the story of the main girl character reminiscing of the days with her ex. To avoid the rush of Liverpool we will be going at a time that it will not be busy, so this means will we be going early in the morning.
